This is the proble area. With the latch closed, you can push this tab and the latch will open. Even if the tailgate handle is locked.
This is a top view with the tailgate down to show you how much room around the latch is open. This allows access to the locking/release tab. Shown at the left sideof the cut out area.
Our brackets bolt on with the factory latch bolt, and one self tapping screw to provide protection from the side and top views.
